Next Stop: China

My trip to Flushing's Chinatown may be the most realistic destination of my entire tour:  Very little English spoken, menus only in Cantonese or Mandarin, and foods (aka parts of animals) I never even knew people ate.  It was a little overwhelming at first, but it was such a fun way to spend an afternoon!

Lanzhou Handmade Noodle

- Vegetable noodle soup - hand-pulled noodles with bok choy and a fried egg

- Beef noodle soup - hand-pulled noodles with bok choy and beef

- Grilled squid and lamb skewers

Hand-pulling the noodles...what a process!

Steamed bun stand (No English name)

What a great idea to tour the world right there within the 5 boroughs! I love Flushing's C-town much better than Manhattan's. It seems more authentic and there's a great energy there. I have yet to try hand-pulled noodles. It's on my list for sure. Have fun!

Thanks!! Yeah definitely agree about Flushing's C-town. Such a different feeling than Manhattan's. You definitely have to try the hand-pulled noodles. The broth wasn't the most flavorful (nothing a little sriracha can't fix!), but the noodles themselves were great.

Flushing chinatown is the best. I love the food court in the mall there. Some great northern chinese around that area too at Golden Palace

Love how just a dab of Sriracha can do wonders to a dish!

@Evan...so many great places, and so many malls. I could spend days and days there! Definitely need a return trip ASAP.
