A Brunch Masterpiece

After being tasked with picking a restaurant for brunch with a friend this weekend, I realized that my neighborhood has a lot of great brunch options that I've been overlooking for the last 2 years! I love my go-to diner and Ess-a-bagelas much (if not more) than the next person, but what a shame to have missed out all this time!

So, I discovered the brunch at Matisse, a really cute, French bistro that is bright and airy during the day, and cozy and dimly lit at night. They have a very extensive menu for brunch that runs the gammet from French onion soup to croque monsieur to steak-frites.

But what caught my eye was the brunch prix-fixe. For only $17.50, you get your choice of an alcoholic beverage, an item from the "So Brunch" section, and an item from the "So Sweet" section. For someone who always has trouble deciding between a sweet entree like pancakes or a savory entree like an omelette, this is ideal! A true masterpiece.

What we ordered:
- A bellini and a mimosa to start things off

- Eggs Florentins - an English muffin topped with wilted spinach, poached eggs, and a delicious Hollandaise sauce, served with home fries and mixed greens

- Omelette du jour - with peppers, onions, mushrooms, and lardons, served with home fries and mixed greens

- Crepes with Nutella - needs no description. Nutella sells itself!
