Everything But the Kitchen Sink - Flexitarians-R-Us

I always knew my eating habits were pretty bizarre (my parents can attest to that!), but I'm thrilled to learn that I'm not the only one who eats some meats...sometimes. Miss Menu can now be considered a flexitarian! Don't worry, my diet will certainly not start consisting of tofu and soy milk only, but now I don't feel as bad saying I only eat chicken, turkey, or fish.

The trend seems to be catching on: "Last year a National Restaurant Association survey found that more than 50 percent of chefs rate vegetarian entries among their top 10 trendiest menu items."

I would highly recommend the book referenced in the Newsweek article The Flexitarian Diet by Dawn Jackson Blatner, R.D. I bought it after reading this article and have been enjoying it ever since. It is filled with great recipes and nutrition tips. Her website is also pretty cool www.dawnjacksonblatner.com . She is on television and in the news quite a bit.
